Wed 26th Jun 2013 - 2:48pm Energy and Heating Warnings About Black Ice on UK Roads

Benjamin Clarke

Whilst the weather is due to get warmer prior to Christmas the last few days have seen an increase in road traffic accidents due to ice on roads as a result of rain water freezing on our roads.

Scotland has been hit with some heavy snow recently whilst the rest of the UK have been pretty lucky so far not have any major disruptions due to the colder weather, the Scottish government are still maintaining its multi agency response units in action as there are still amber snow warnings or sleet, snow & rain in central Scotland & the borders.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said “In keeping with our thorough preparations & no room for complacency approach the team is staying open to ensure that a coordinated & effective monitoring & response system is in place”
