We have stocked Apollo radiators for years now and find they offer the best value for money. Their small three column horizontal radiators start at just £75. Some of their larger radiators in the 1800mm width range have an incredible BTU output of over 10,000; perfect for heating boardrooms and large open plan areas.
Horizontal Column Radiators for Bedrooms
Most of us will opt for horizontal radiators in the bedroom. When looking at the radiators we have available on site we do advise you take two things into account.
Firstly, always measure the height starting at the top of your skirting boards and not the floor. If you’re stuck for space, you don’t want the board to interfere with the projection from the wall.
Secondly, consider if you have to have a radiator under a window. In most bedrooms, it is common to have a two column horizontal radiator to match windowsill width and not jut out.
Horizontal Column Radiators for Living Rooms
The living room is an important room to keep warm as it’s where you want to stay cosy the most. If your living room has trouble keeping warm, a radiator with a strong heat output is a must. Four column horizontal radiators are great if you have the space on the wall, with white and silver being popular colours for this space.
How Many Columns do I need When Choosing a Radiator?
It’s important to know that the number of columns a radiator has equates to the space/ amount of air a radiator can take and heat.
We have a dynamic range of horizontal radiators on site. You’ll be able to find two column radiators that can work just as well as four columns in some cases. The BTU requirements of your room may determine the number of columns you pick, and the space you have for a radiator. If you have no idea what the BTU of a room is, use our heating calculator to see what size of radiator you need.
